Home XRP - Top 10 Binance and Kraken could participate in Spark airdrop

Binance and Kraken could participate in Spark airdrop

  • XRP’s fork, Flare, confirms that it is in negotiations with Binance and Kraken to support Spark token airdrop.
  • 18 exchanges and wallets support Spark airdrop and at least 5 are considering supporting its distribution.

XRP holders may have two new exchanges to receive the Spark token from Flare Networks. Via Twitter Flare, also known as “the first XRP fork”, answered a user’s question about new partnerships for Spark’s airdrop.

According to Flare’s response, they are in talks with exchanges Kraken, Binance and Binance US. However, nothing is confirmed yet. If so, they would be the biggest platforms to support the Spark token airdrop. A snapshot of the accounts that will receive the airdrop will be taken on December 12 of this year. Therefore, there is still time for an official announcement to be made. The token will be distributed in a 1:1 ratio with the digital asset XRP.

Data from CoinGecko indicates that Binance’s trading volume in 24 hours has been around $1.4 billion with 830 trading pairs listed and 32 million visits to their website. This places it in the top position among the major exchanges followed by Coinbase Pro and Kraken. The latter with a daily trading volume of $108 million.

Which exchanges support Spark distribution?

At the time of publication, a total of 18 institutions and wallets support Spark’s airdrop. Among the exchanges are: Poloniex, Uphold, NDAX, bitrue, GateHub, AnchorU$D, btcmarkets, CoinSpot. Among the wallets: Ledger, Xumm, and Exodus are the most prominent. In response to rumors of an alleged withdrawal of support for Spark, Poloniex and Uphold have reconfirmed their support.

On the other hand, at least 5 exchanges are considering distributing Spark, in addition to Binance and Kraken. Ripple’s partner, SBI, bitibank, eToro and Nexo have also confirmed that they are considering supporting the airdrop. Nexo stated:

Kindly be advised that we are currently in active communication with the CEO of Flare Network. Furthermore, as announced in another tweet, the snapshot of the XRP ledger for the Spark distribution will be taken on December 12th 2020.

As reported by CNF, Flare Networks is a blockchain project funded by Ripple’s investment arm, Xpring. So far more than 15,000 accounts with nearly 1 billion XRPs have taken the necessary steps to participate in the airdrop. To participate in the airdrop, it is necessary to use a tool from XRP Labs founder Wietse Wind for XUMM and the XRPToolkit. Below is a simplified tutorial on how you can participate in the token distribution, shared by Flare Networks.
